Toronto Sun: Senator Joe Lieberman, facing a tough re-election battle in 2012, bowed out Wednesday with no regrets that he has backed both Democrats and Republicans over the years. Lieberman's popularity in his home state of Connecticut has suffered, in part, to his changing political allegiances, leaving him open to a strong challenge next year that he decided to avoid by retiring from the Senate at the end of his current term in 2012.
