As we reported on Thursday's No Spin News, a new Emerson College Poll says that six months after the election of 2024, most Americans are standing by their votes. A canvas of 1,000 voters shows 93 percent of Kamala Harris supporters would back her again, while 94 percent of Trump voters are standing by their man.

This illustrates two things: that most people don't like to admit mistakes and that the American electorate remains deeply divided. Harris and Trump have almost nothing in common. It's like comparing Porterhouse steak to kale.

Loyalty is a good thing; blind loyalty is not. Kamala Harris was a solution-free candidate who ran on the Biden status quo, which was a disaster.

Donald Trump is a disruptive national presence whose legacy will be defined over the next 12 months.  He has a shot to enter Ronald Reagan territory or, if the economy craters, he may dance with the specter of Herbert Hoover.

So, that's where we are on the national political scene.  I am standing by my Trump vote.  I very much hope my vision last November will turn out to be perspicacious.  I will admit failure if it doesn't.

Enjoy the weekend.
