New York Mayor Eric Adams decided to play the race card Tuesday, angry at the coverage and criticism of his leadership.
Instead of addressing any issues raised by the press or voicing his displeasure about specific coverage, he decided to criticize the media for their lack of diversity and threatened to shut down his interaction with them.
Adams' criticism of the media may have harbored a point, but the fact is many people had high hopes for the mayor because of his pro-police views. Adams has instead waffled between progressive stances and doing what he promised his constituents he would do: stop crime.
It's time for Mayor Adams to look inward and do what he promised to do.
