This verbal brawl between Laura Ingraham and LeBron James seems to be escalating.  After the NBA all star game last night, Mr. James continued defending himself from Laura’s contention that he lacks the expertise to provide political analysis to the nation.

My viewpoint is that LeBron James has a perfect right to use his sports platform to dispense his opinions about anything.  But when he lambastes Donald Trump and says the President doesn’t care about Americans, he should accept the inevitable criticism that kind of punditry always brings.

Instead, Mr. James and some of his supporters are labeling Ms. Ingraham’s dissent as “racist.”

That’s wrong and destructive.

For years, Laura has believed that entertainers should have a credible frame-of-reference if they decide to use their power to influence politics.  She wrote an entire book about that.

So, her criticism of LeBron James has a non-racial context and honest people can debate the validity of it.

Also, I have known Laura for decades and there is nothing racist about her.  She worked for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, and has adopted children from the third world.  Anyone implying Laura Ingraham has racist motives about anything is severely misinformed.

LeBron James seems to be a sincere person in the sense that he wants to help people who need help.  America needs the kind of leadership that Mr. James might be able to provide.  But he is certainly open to criticism if he demonizes a sitting president as he has done.

The media mob, of course, is siding with the basketball star and diminishing Laura Ingraham.  Just another example of corruption.  Labeling Americans racist has become a vicious sport that the national press embraces.

Tomorrow on The No Spin News, we will advance the Ingraham-James story in a vivid way.  Because I am in New Orleans today, and because it is Presidents Day, we’ll have a special tonight open to all - the best moments from my past presidential interviews.

Hope you enjoy it, thanks for spending time with us.
