The dishonest corporate media is peddling a story that Donald Trump is trying to scuttle a border compromise in Congress, one that would also free up money to fight Putin in Ukraine.

So, here's the truth for readers who value it. Mr. Trump and some Republicans want more intense security at the southern border, including a wall. They don't want half-measures.

Most Democrats oppose a wall and are trying to get legislation that might tighten security a bit but certainly wouldn't solve the mass illegal immigration problem.

The GOP thinking goes, 'Why settle when the issue is hurting the Biden administration big time?'

Liberal Americans oppose a border wall because they believe it hurts the poor. They want "inclusion," not a barrier to it.

Like the thinking of Pope Francis, the reality of weaker national security and overwhelming cost are not vital considerations to the left. 

It's all about emotion and virtue signaling.
