The World Series this year has some interesting political implications.  The Toronto Blue Jays are not only a baseball team, but a symbol of Canadian grievance against the Trump administration.

You may remember the brief controversy over a possible 51st state put forth by the President.  That would be Canada.  The problem is most Canadians like their country and want to keep it.  Kind of like Obamacare with your doctor.  Eh?

And so the Blue Jays are playing for national honor despite having just two Canadian citizens on the team.  But they are based in Toronto, so they are “standing guard for thee.”  Or something.

I find it hard to root for the Los Angeles Dodgers, an organization that honored the anti-Catholic group “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.”  Yes, I know Shohei Ohtani had nothing to do with that, but still.

Also, I like that Canadians are proud of their country.  Loyalty is declining in this world.

So, I’m going with the Jays, understanding they will most likely lose.  The boys of perpetual summer are rolling, and Ohtani has dinner reservations in Tokyo come November.  Might be a short series.

See you this evening for the No Spin News.
