As we reported on Thursday, former Disney CEO Robert Iger believes the big three networks, CBS, NBC, and ABC, are pretty much finished as influential enterprises. And Iger is correct; younger Americans, in particular, have little interest in watching; only live sports attract a major audience these days.
This will be a profound cultural change. No longer will television entertainment be a unifier. And TV News is on the verge of irrelevance as few Americans trust it.
So, the country will lack an electronic town square as mass messaging goes over to social media, where there are few standards or safeguards. Anything goes.
Truth will not matter.
The dark money boys know this. They understand they can now buy a false reality. Joe Biden is a unifier, that kind of stuff.
Don't see how this situation can be reversed. When honest discourse ends, totalitarianism begins. Hope I'm wrong.
