The Trump administration will "continue to be in full cooperation" with Robert Mueller's Russia investigation amid reports that the special counsel will interview President Donald Trump within weeks, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Tuesday.
"The White House is not going to comment on communications with the special counsel out of respect for the special counsel and process," Sanders responded when asked about the reports. "But we'll continue to be in full cooperation with them."
The Washington Post disclosed Monday that Mueller was expected to interview Trump in his probe on Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election in the next few weeks.
The Post's report cited "two people familiar with the talks."
Despite the pledge of cooperation, Sanders slammed the probe, in response to a question about Trump's comments last month that the inquiry "makes the country look very bad."
