San Francisco Chronicle: U.S. Representative Anthony Weiner, who had admitted to sending inappropriate messages and photos of himself to women on the Internet, resigned from Congress today, removing a political distraction for his fellow Democrats. "I had hoped to be able to continue the work that the citizens of my district elected me to do," Weiner said in New York. "Unfortunately the distraction that I created has made that impossible."
