It's party time at the White House this week as the Christmas season has kicked in. I attended a bunch of those soirées in the past and they were highlights. 

The building itself is, of course, magnificent, each room a historical theme park. Portraits of past presidents adorn the walls, and you stroll around imagining what took place there.

Food is top notch, served buffet-style. White House kitchen open round the clock.

Marine Guards all over the place. Christmas decorations meticulous.

The Presidents, themselves, appear to take pictures. Each guest has about two minutes with them. I brought my urchins a few times. Amazing experience.

Bush, Obama, and Trump were all very gracious - I always got in a quip, which they returned.

Michelle Obama was especially nice to my daughter.

Despite a divided America, we remain a good country striving to get better, I hope.

Will never forget my good fortune at those parties.
