Entertainer Will Smith's assault of comedian Chris Rock at this past Sunday's Academy Awards continues to dominate the social media atmosphere.
Recently, Oscars co-hosts Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes voiced their shock over Smith's actions. Sykes criticized the Academy for allowing him to stay and receive his award, saying it sent the wrong message.
NBA legend and civil rights activist Kareem Abdul-Jabbar said the incident hurt the Black community, young men, and women, among other groups.
What's even more startling is that many people feel that Smith, not Rock, was the victim.
NBA superstars Paul George wrote a long post justifying Smith's actions, and Damien Lillard commented that others deserve the same treatment.
Maybe we should ask if Rock sent the wrong message by not filing charges.
