HOG WILD POLITICS!
Barack Obama says you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. He says he was referring to John McCain's Bush-like politics. The McCain camp says it was a personal and sexist attack on Gov. Sarah Palin. Now all heck is breaking loose!

"How many of the candidates wear lipstick? Obama is so shaken by Palin's candidacy, he subconsciously made that remark."
Frank Borysevicz
Vernon, CT

"The McCain campaign isn't to blame for people turning against Obama over the 'lipstick on a pig' comment. We all saw it with our own eyes."
Carolyn Knight
Alabama

"I personally would like to see Obama and McCain talk about real issues instead of the ridiculous ad lib comments made daily. I don't care about lipstick or pigs."
Marilyn Olson
Hemet, CA

"Surely, you are not so naive as to believe the 'lipstick on a pig' comment was purely innocent. Mr. Obama is not above a nasty dig."
Diane Trueblood
Beverly, MA

"Do men wear lipstick? Lipstick and pig in the same sentence is sexist, no matter how many politicians have gotten away with it in the past."
Nikki Grace
Cottonwood Heights, UT

"Thank you for calling the 'lipstick on a pig' comment what it really is: a tempest in a teapot. I think you got it right by playing it down."
Rob Dennis
Burbank, CA

"You completely misunderstood the comment. The Republican party is the pig. Palin is the lipstick. Metaphorically, this makes the Governor into window dressing, and that is definitely sexist."
J.C. Warner
St. Paul, MN

"Of course the comment was sexist. Did he say 'you can put a tuxedo on a pig and it's still a pig?'"
Nancy Short
New York, NY

"Sarah Palin clearly made gender an issue when she compared herself and other hockey moms to a pitbull with lipstick. But Obama made no reference to Sarah Palin, and she didn't copyright the word 'lipstick.'"
Rick Gunter
Georgia

"Obama's analogy was an unintentional gaffe. But there may be a pattern developing where he is perceived to make gender-insensitive comments."
Douglas Gillespie
Sebree, KY

"I'm sick and tired of lipstick-gate. There are serious issues to be addressed, but the McCain campaign is seizing on this childish controversy. I've had enough and I'm leaning toward voting for Obama."
Kathy Needs
Meridian, ID

"Obama wasn't intending to be derogatory. I think the media just blew the whole thing out of proportion."
Nancy Picciano
Placentia, CA

"Doesn't anyone get it? The old saying is 'earring on a pig,' not lipstick. And Obama was very obviously taking a shot at Sarah Palin."
Janine Guthrie
Pittsburgh, PA

"A presidential candidate can't stoop to calling his opponents degrading names, even by inference. It will alienate the public and lose votes."
Gene Churgin
Ann Arbor, MI

"When Obama made the comment, his audience's reaction clearly showed they associated the pig with Palin. At that moment, he had a chance to correct the record."
Jack Shagena Jr.
Bel Air, MD

"If Palin hadn't made her lipstick joke, Obama's comments would have been benign. But she did, then he did, so it's a bonehead remark."
Scott McInnes
Hewlett, NY

"I applaud your coverage of lipstick-gate. Clearly the old adage, used by politicians far and wide, was directed at John McCain. No matter how he dresses it up, it'll just be four more years of the same. Thanks for being on the side of sanity."
Mary Buchmayr
Durango, CO

"I tuned in to see what you would make of the lipstick controversy. I was not disappointed."
Tim Taylor
Elizabeth, CO

"Why shouldn't the McCain/Palin campaign play up this remark by Obama? The Democrats routinely take things out of context and make a big deal out of nothing."
Paul Glovik
Marion, IA

"Obama knows that words are important, and he chose some really silly ones while on a rant. He should at least apologize for any possible misunderstanding."
Tim Grimes
Knoxville, TN

"I think the lipstick remark from Obama was awesome. You need a President with confidence like that."
Ferdinando Agozzino
London, England

"I'll give Barack Obama the benefit of the doubt and assume his lipstick comment wasn't meant to malign Sarah Palin. But it was another example of poor judgment."
Dina Dellaporta
Montreal, Canada

"Here's the reality: Obama is not a stupid guy. If you listen to the whole soundbite, this was no slip."
Judith Blair
Winnipeg, Canada

"I will be voting Republican for the first time ever and I can't wait to vote! We need new people in Washington."
Patricia Trusty
North Port, FL

PINHEADS UNITE!
Joy Behar takes Sarah Palin to task for being mean to animals. We can't make this stuff up!

"I'm no fan of Joy Behar, but she's right. Sarah Palin considers all human life sacred, but seems to have no regard for any other species."
Susan Ivey
Palatka, FL

"Joy Behar also said hunters were bad for the environment. The truth is hunters are among the most ardent of conservationists."
James Cook
Frankfort, KY

"How ironic that Joy Behar is pro-choice, yet things Sarah Palin is too mean to animals because she hunts caribou. What about the thousands of innocent babies who are aborted every day?"
Maggie Flanahan
St. Louis, MO

"Is Joy Behar a vegetarian? She should go to a slaughterhouse to see what it means to be mean to animals."
Linda Green
Mequon, WI

"No more Joy Behar. She's only on 'The View' because of her big mouth and twisted logic, certainly not because of her intelligence."
Irma Resh
Garden Grove, CA

MISCELLANEOUS
"My mother watched your show for yours, and I could never understand her addiction to you. Until now. You've even made my TIVO list!"
Karen Smith
Pensacola, FL

"My mother has been trying to get me to watch your show for years, and today I finally gave in. I don't know what I was waiting for. I loved it!"
Kim Palestis
Lyndenhurst, NJ
