Boston Herald: An ABC TV network news anchor said he's troubled by what he called the biased news coverage of Fox and MSNBC.
"I worry about the lack of objectivity and the future of the news business," Charles Gibson told a Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce audience yesterday.
The host of ABC's "World News" program said the two cable networks are playing to niche audiences - Fox to conservatives and MSNBC to liberals - to the detriment of what should be objective news gathering and reporting. |

Charles doesn't really watch us. He's the guy who didn't know about the ACORN investigation. So I don't think he's doing a lot of Fox watching anyway.
We're not ideological except in our opinion programs, and Charles is never going to get that, because he doesn't want to get it. All the polls show that we have more Democrats watching us than MSNBC has watching them, so it's ridiculous. It never stops. And it never will!

I used to like Charlie on GMA, but after Disney bought ABC, everything on that channel changed. I quit watching after a few months everything seemed to be Disney orientated, and leaning far left. I can't remember when last I turned ABC on. It's a shame that a renegade company like ABC would become so biased.

My first memory of listening to a presidential speech was listening to someone else explain to me what I just heard. It was as if I did not have the intelligence to comprehend the meaning for myself. How demeaning! Many times, even as a child, My interpretation was different than theirs. By the time I was old enough to vote, I learned to see through the pompous fog and identify the commentators bias. Unfortunately biased mainstream commentators are now giving me their interpretation of the news so I have to Fox for the actual facts. Please don't change.

Harmful to whom? People who can actually think for themselves? Or the people who want a news commentator to do the thinking for them? Mr. Gibson is overstepping his bounds, imo. Let the viewers decide who they want to watch. If they are harmful, reasonable thinking people will stop giving them an ear and change the channel.
