Wednesday: Glenn Beck Explains his Latest Comments
Donald Trump Goes Back to His Populist Approach
"In a speech last night outside of Milwaukee, Donald Trump spoke forcefully about the problems facing America. Trying to broaden his appeal, Mr. Trump directed some of his remarks at African Americans, saying 'The Democratic Party has failed and betrayed the African-American community.' Mr. Trump pointed to the median household income for blacks that fell during President Obama's tenure. Black home ownership has also fallen, and the black poverty rate has risen slightly. As far as crime is concerned, blacks make up 13% of the population but 38% of all violent crime arrests are African Americans. Blacks have the highest high school drop out rate and score lowest among American ethnic groups in math and writing on the SATs. So it would seem that Donald Trump has a point. The stats say that under a progressive democratic president black Americans are less well-off then they were under President Bush. It would be hard to believe that black Americans would rally behind Donald Trump because he has been successfully demonized in many African American precincts. Also, Trump's style does not seem to appeal to minority voters in general, there is no question about that. But on the issues, it is clear that liberal policies have not really helped the African American community. However, Talking Points believes that change is not in the air and that blacks and other minorities will go big for Hillary Clinton despite the current state of the union. Will anything change that? No!"

The Factor invited reaction from civil rights attorney Andell Brown and Rev. Jacques Degraff. "On the first day of Trump's campaign he insulted a significant portion of the population," Degraff recalled, "and it's been downhill ever since. African Americans observed the tone of the campaign and said that this is not a campaign that is trying to embrace and include me. Now it's a year later and he's talking to black people." Brown tried to explain why blacks continue to be so loyal to the Democratic Party. "In the area of criminal justice reform, Democrats removed the distinctions between powder cocaine and crack cocaine. That was one major thing, and also in education President Obama has stepped up funding for common core education." The Factor reminded Brown, "The Democratic Party has blocked the voucher system which would give blacks an option to attend private schools."
Trump Hires a Political Street Fighter
While most national polls show Hillary Clinton with a significant lead over Donald Trump, a Los Angeles Times tracking poll has the candidates in a virtual dead heat. Meanwhile, Trump has added veteran political strategist Steve Bannon to his staff. Geraldo Rivera and Eric Bolling scrutinized the appointment. "Steve Bannon is a fighter," Bolling said, "and he is known as the guy who can fire up the base. He is very conservative, he's right of Ronald Reagan." Rivera was not quite so complimentary about Bannon. "Bloomberg News called him the most dangerous political operative in the country. He's a bare-knuckles, take-no-prisoners kind of guy. This indicates that Trump will not be the measured pivot candidate, he's going to run to the right."
Beck Compares Trump to Black Lives Matter
Radio host and author Glenn Beck has compared Donald Trump to organizers of the Black Lives Matter movement, claiming that Trump's most rabid fans hate and distrust the system. Beck entered the No Spin Zone to explain. "He just made Steve Bannon the CEO of his campaign," Beck asserted, "and he is one of the dirtiest and nastiest human beings alive. Donald Trump doesn't seem to recognize bad guys - he also hired Paul Manifort, who might wind up in jail because he was funneling money to a pro-Russian group in Ukraine. Trump has people chanting, 'Put them in jail, put them in jail.' This guy is a nightmare! There are choices other than Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton."
Trouble for Hillary Clinton?
FNC correspondent Catherine Herridge joined The Factor with the latest on Hillary Clinton's emails and the allegations of corruption at the Clinton Foundation. "I spoke with three contacts today," she reported, "and the email situation has been put to bed. But the Clinton Foundation situation is ongoing - it is not moving quickly because it is very complex and there is no full-throated support for it at the Justice Department. The third issue is the allegation that Hillary Clinton lied to Congress in 2015. That is a very hard case to make because you have to get inside her head." The Factor urged the DOJ to seriously examine the Clinton Foundation: "I'm disappointed in Attorney General Loretta Lynch because I thought she would pursue justice. I don't have any ax to grind, but look at all the people who had access to Secretary Clinton and gave money to the Clinton Foundation. Lynch needs to clarify that."
Miller's Greatest Hits
The Factor introduced a few of Dennis Miller's most memorable quips. This was Miller on Loretta Lynch's testimony before Congress: "I thought the Attorney General was supposed to prosecute people who obstruct justice, not perfect it. She made James Comey look like Sammy 'The Bull' Gravano in a karaoke bar." Miller also opined on the South Carolina town that banned extremely baggy pants: "I go out with one goal in mind and it's not to see what the kids are doing with their sartorial splendor. I don't care what you wear, you can put your undies on your head and a hat on your ass. Just leave me alone!" Finally, Miller expressed very little interest in purchasing the Playboy Mansion: "You'd have to bring in Old Faithful to steam clean that thing, there are microbes the size of piranha. There are bacteria in there that cast a shadow!"
Violence in Milwaukee
A reporter named Tim Pool refused to cover the recent protests in Milwaukee because he felt the atmosphere was not safe for whites. Martha MacCallum opined on the reporter's concerns. "Tim Pool is a freelance reporter," she said, "and he has done work for some of the networks. He's covered a lot of these situations and he was being very honest here - he saw white reporters being grabbed and pushed, which made him fear for his own life. This could be a blackout like Syria if the press can't get in and tell the story because they're being assaulted. This is a breakdown like we saw in the late 60s." The Factor added, "The police cannot protect reporters if they are not behind police lines, so anything can happen and the chances are than whomever does it to you will not be arrested."

Factor Words of the Day
Jeremiah Oldfather, Honokaa, HI: "Mr. O'Reilly, I am a liberal who mostly enjoys your Talking Points Memo. But comparing David Duke to George Soros is off the rails! The former head of the KKK is in a category all his own."

Tony Smith, Park Ridge, IL: "O'Reilly, thank you for exposing George Soros and his plans for worldwide open borders. This is the most important story of our time."

Gloria Pemberton, Newbury Park, CA: "I find it ironic that Soros lives in a country which affords him the freedom to try and destroy it."
