The Factor Rundown
Wednesday: Trump Swings Back at Clinton
Donald Trump Seeking to Destroy Hillary Clinton
Guests: Geraldo & Bolling

The Factor opened with its Talking Points Memo, which summarized Donald Trump's speech that attacked Hillary Clinton about her alleged corruption at the Clinton Foundation. Hillary Clinton hit back, saying Trump was attacking her character because he had no policy answers to her proposals.

"Summing up, the opening campaign salvos are harsh and likely will get even more intense as we move toward November," The Factor said.

Eric Bolling and Geraldo Rivera then joined for analysis.

Bolling said Trump helped himself with his speech after a rough couple of weeks, but that he wished the real estate mogul had not used a teleprompter.

"I would much rather him free-flow it," Bolling said. "And I think that's what people are attracted to. But I think he needed to do this. You want to talk about a rebuttal or reboot or re-set, he did that."

Rivera said Trump went way too far in his speech in his attacks on Hillary.

"He accused her not just of the run-of-the mill kind of political corruption, you scratch my back, I scratch yours," Rivera said. "He accused her of larceny. He accused her of the most traitorous, felonious activity, that she sold out the United States of America to favor China with Chinese money."
The DOJ & The Orlando Terror Attack
Guests: Eboni Williams & Monica Crowley

Eboni Williams & Monica Crowley

Loretta Lynch said at a press conference that she did not know where the wife of the Orlando terror killer was, raising serious concerns given reports that she helped her husband scout the nightclub where he carried out his massacre.

Eboni Williams said she didn't believe Lynch, that it was part of a strategy to make the wife believe she wasn't under surveillance.

"When Loretta Lynch says, she didn't know where she was, actually you have to believe she is lying," Williams said.

Monica Crowley agreed. "The standard operating procedure of surveillance not to tip off the target," Crowley said.

Crowley, however, was upset with Lynch's comments that one of the most effective responses to terror is "love."

"That statement was far more disturbing to me than her statement about [the killer's] wife," Crowley said. "Because it tells you what the culture of thinking is. This is the chief law enforcement officer of the nation under the president of the United States."
VP Predictions for Clinton and Trump
Guests: Karl Rove

Karl Rove joined The Factor to describe the process of looking for a Vice Presidential candidate.

"You look at every public and private scrap of information you can find out about the candidates, their finances, their public statements," Rove said. "Their personal activities. You have a heart to heart conversation with them. Is there anything in your background that if it became known could embarrass the ticket? Embarrass the party?"

Rove and The Factor discussed the favorites to get the VP nomination -

Democrats: Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA), Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro and Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) on the Democratic side

Republicans: former Speaker of the House New Gingrich, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) and Gov. Mary Fallon (R-OK).
Most Powerful People in Hollywood Backing Clinton
Guest: Janice Min

The Factor Talked to the Janice Min, president of the Hollywood Reporter, who confirmed there were very few Trump supporters in Hollywood. But she said many Hollywood executives try to avoid being overly political.

"I think a lot of these CEOs that they live by the Michael Jordan rule that Republicans buy sneakers too as he once famously said and these are people who have a lot of product," Min said.
Animal Attacks on the Rise
Guest: Dennis Miller

The Factor asked Miller if he bought the theory that global warming was causing numerous animal attacks in America.

"I don't think that global warming causes it," Miller said. "I don't even know -- to me it's hot once in a while. And you know why, Billy. This is my theory, and I'm not trying to anger people. I think it's hot out there because the sun is hot. And it's always been hot. And it was hot when I was a little kid. And, you know, when I was a little kid I was even further away from it."
Investigating Trump's Advertising Payments
Guest: Martha MacCallum

The Factor had Martha MacCallum look into $35,000 in spending by the Trump Campaign to a company called Draper Sterling, which is curiously close to the name of the advertising company on the AMC show "Mad Men."

MacCallum found out the company actually exists and did work for the Trump campaign.

MacCallum also reported on military guidelines that prohibit soldiers in Afghanistan from shooting at the Taliban unless it's in self-defense.

"They are in a very difficult and dangerous position," MacCallum said.
