Making Jon Stewart understand his country
"The left in this country is extremely creative; they spin and put out stuff that never ceases to amaze. The latest is about my interview with President Obama. The spin is that I dealt with phony issues, stuff trumped up by Fox News. Jon Stewart accused me of 'dipping wholesale into the faux Fox scandal grab bag.' He echoed President Obama by saying that some of the issues I brought up have been 'thoroughly investigated.' That's a farce. There have been no cogent explanations about why the administration misled the world over Benghazi. With the IRS, there has been no explanation about who was behind the targeting of conservative groups. And on ObamaCare, only 8% of people using the website say it's working well. These issues are not important to Jon Stewart or even to the president because they don't pertain to social justice or global warming. Now, I'm going to speak very slowly so Stewart and his crew can take some notes. Number one, there are serious charges that the administration would not tell the truth about Libya because of the upcoming presidential election. Number two, if the IRS is abusing its vast power, every American should be concerned. And finally, the people are being forced to accept ObamaCare and it's still chaotic. Are you hearing me out there in left-wing fantasy land?"
Analyzing Jon Stewart's "Analysis"
Guests:Kirsten Powers and Kate Obenshain

Republican Kate Obenshain and Democrat Kirsten Powers opined on Jon Stewart's criticism of the White House interview "I was interested to learn about the 'multiple investigations' that have been done," Powers said sarcastically. "Regarding the IRS, there actually have been no conclusions from any investigation and no one has been held accountable. You and I disagree on a lot of things, but I did not think you were rude to the president." Obenshain portrayed Stewart as a shill for the administration. "He is ticked off because you didn't follow the talking points of the White House and the mainstream media. And they're ticked about the fact that you actually exposed that there are none of these ongoing investigations. The mainstream media expect you to ask questions like a subject would to an imperial monarch."
Cameron and Rosen on the CBO and Benghazi
Guests:Carl Cameron and James Rosen

Douglas Elmendorf, who heads the Congressional Budget Office, concedes that ObamaCare can be "a disincentive for people to work." FNC correspondent Carl Cameron analyzed that admission. "To translate what he said," Cameron said, "folks who are lower-income will qualify for subsidies whether they are working or not, so they may decide to work less or not at all because their health care will be guaranteed. The White House is actually trying to say that's a good thing because people will be able to spend time with their kids." FNC's James Rosen turned to new questions about the terror attack in Benghazi. "Mike Morell was deputy director of the CIA at the time, and by all accounts he's the guy who actually made a lot of the edits to the famous 'talking points' that were used to mislead the American people. There is now evidence showing that Mr. Morell was very involved in developing the whole false narrative."
Suspected Heroin Dealers Busted in NY
Guests:Alesandra Rain and Daniel Bober

In the wake of actor Philip Seymour Hoffman's death, New York police have arrested four suspected heroin pushers. The Factor spoke about the drug trade with former addict Alesandra Rain and psychiatrist Daniel Bober. "Selling narcotics is a violent act," Rain declared, "and it should be treated as a violent act. There are four times more deaths due to heroin than there are murders, so what could be more violent?" Bober was even more forceful in his denunciation of drug sellers. "These are parasites who peddle their poison and they are responsible for some of the worst ills, including violent crime, unwanted pregnancy, and sexually transmitted diseases. They prey on society and they need to be treated like violent criminals." The Factor challenged those who refer to drug dealing as a non-violent crime: "They're enslaving people and killing people, yet there is a growing tolerance for this."
Stock Market Craziness
Guests:Maria Bartiromo

Equity markets have had a turbulent ride lately, mostly to the downside. The Factor discussed the turmoil with Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo. "There are a few headwinds coming at us," she observed. "The Federal Reserve is beginning to taper the monetary stimulus, which was one of the big factors in the market. We were up huge in 2013, valuations probably got ahead of themselves, so it's no surprise to see some giveback." Nevertheless, Bartiromo implied that stocks are generally a sound investment. "The stock market is based on corporate earnings, which are doing very well. If you're a long-term investor you have to be in this market, and sell-offs open up a great opportunity." But The Factor wasn't buying that theory, saying, "I think it's a rigged game, there are people who manipulate the market up and down."
Dennis Miller Flying High
Guests:Dennis Miller

The Factor asked Dennis Miller how he would advise New Jersey Governor Chris Christie to deal with his many critics. "If you weigh 350 pounds," Miller suggested, "why not throw your weight around? If I was him, I'd say, 'Listen, if you don't shut up about this I'm going to park my formidable rear end on lanes 1 and 2 of the George Washington Bridge again.' They're never going to get off his back on this so he ought to play hardball." Miller also discoursed on pop star Justin Bieber, who was recently on a private jet that was reportedly filled with marijuana smoke. "The pilots are morons. If they take off and he lights up a joint, land the plane and have him arrested. If I ask for a second bag of peanuts with a cross face, the woman warns me that the FAA will be at the other side of the jetway to take me off to a Midnight Express prison. If this idiot lights up a joint, land the plane and arrest him!"
GI Bill - Contributing to a Nanny State?
Guests:Martha MacCallum

In an effort to diminish the O'Reilly-Obama interview, a little-watched host on MSNBC implied that the modern welfare state is akin to the G.I. Bill. FNC anchor Martha MacCallum analyzed the segment. "The message they're trying to give you in a very smug tone," she reported, "is that Levittown on Long Island never would have happened without help from the government. The truth is that the Levitt family built a great real estate business and the government did not help them build that business. That panel and the president claim the G.I. Bill situation is equivalent to today's food stamps and disability program." The Factor made a clear distinction between the G.I. Bill and today's handouts: "After World War II, the feds provided education and mortgage benefits to veterans, but they weren't freebies. Our military people earned them because they sacrificed years of their lives. My father, a naval officer, got a low mortgage so he could buy an $8,000 house in Levittown. He earned it, there was no nanny state attached to it."
Viewers sound off
Factor Words of the Day
Adrienne Price, Roanoke, VA: "Bill, you claim we know more now about the President than we knew before the interview. Love you, but unless you live in a cave, we all knew he was evasive."

Owen Tibbetts, Montgomery, TX: "Please inform Howard Kurtz that the President tied himself to the IRS by saying there is not a smidgen of evidence of corruption."

James Sharp, Alachua, FL: "Great discussion about whether the President gained anything by doing the interview. I don't think so. Those who love him still do. Those who don't still don't."
