Is Our Political System Rigged?
"With two weeks left in perhaps the nastiest presidential race in history, many Americans just want the whole thing to end. But Donald Trump has raised the specter of a fixed election, he says the system is rigged. Bernie Sanders got hosed by his own party because many of the super-delegates were locked in for Hillary, so that primary system was rigged for sure. Trump sees it a bit differently, believing that the left-leaning media combined with suspect voting patterns is how the system is rigged. So let's look at the facts: With more than 100 million Americans voting, it is virtually impossible for the actual vote tally to be rigged. But a Pew study says that there are serious problems involving voter registration. On the media front there is no question that Americans are not getting objective reporting because so many journalists are committed to the left. Also, there is growing evidence that our justice system has been compromised. Because Hillary Clinton is in the middle of that, a case can be made that the election had been rigged in her favor. The latest story involves the number two man in the FBI, Andrew McCabe. His wife, Dr. Jill McCabe, received close to $700,000 from a close friend of Hillary Clinton's, Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe. Dr. McCabe was running for the state senate in Virginia and a McAuliffe-controlled PAC gave her the money. At the time Hillary Clinton was being investigated by the FBI and Andrew McCabe was involved in that investigation. So McCabe should have recused himself. Talking Points is not saying there is corruption, but the optics are awful and FBI Director James Comey had to know that. If you combine the McCabe stuff with Comey not calling for a grand jury and basically giving Secretary Clinton every benefit of the doubt, you have the appearance of impropriety. So it's no surprise that many Americans, including Trump, believe the system is rigged. Did I mention Attorney General Loretta Lynch meeting with Bill Clinton during the investigation? I mean, come on. Again, the vote cannot possibly be rigged, and Mr. Trump should accept whatever happens unless there is compelling evidence of corruption. But overall, if you don't think the federal political and justice system has severe problems, you're living in the Land of Oz.
Corruption at the FBI?
The Factor welcomed Washington Post reporter James Hohmann, who has been looking into those allegations involving Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe. "The FBI is pushing back very hard on this," he said, "and so is Governor McAuliffe. In 2015 he wanted to expand Medicaid in Virginia and needed a couple of seats in the state senate. He sat down with Jill McCabe and her husband, who was head of the Washington field office of the FBI. The FBI says that is the only time Governor McAuliffe and Andrew McCabe ever met in person, and the FBI also says that Andrew McCabe didn't go to any of her campaign events. But the optics on this are terrible and people within the FBI know this looks very bad."
Email Trouble for Democrats
Newly released emails indicate that President Obama was not telling the truth when he claimed he did not know about Secretary Clinton's private email account until it was widely reported. The Factor spoke about that with Juan Williams and Lisa Boothe. "The critical issue is accountability of people in power," Williams declared. "You can't have misinformation coming from the president and he should explain what he knew and when he knew it." Boothe accused the Clinton campaign of widespread dishonesty. "Cheryl Mills saw this as a campaign issue and saw a problem because of what President Obama said. You have to look at everything that has gone on from the top down in the Clinton campaign." The Factor again criticized FBI boss James Comey: "Everyone knows that Hillary Clinton did not tell the truth about her emails, with the exception of James Comey. He didn't mention this email and it is so damning!"
Trump and Hispanic Votes
On Tuesday Donald Trump canceled a scheduled interview with Elvira Salazar, an Hispanic reporter based in Florida. She entered the No Spin Zone and elaborated. "This was in Miami at an event for Cuban veterans," Salazar reported. "I was ready, my camera was ready, and I was thanking him for taking the time to talk to Hispanic media because we were eager to hear from him directly. But someone on his staff just pulled him away. We were flabbergasted and 30 minutes later someone from his campaign apologized. He promised to do the interview next week and I want to talk with him about our immigration laws."
Respect for Police Surges
While radical groups like Black Lives Matter and even NFL players demonize cops, a new poll shows that public respect for police officers has increased. Author Heather MacDonald analyzed a new study that refutes the BLM narrative. "This study shows that if there is any bias in police shootings," she said, "it actually works in favor of blacks. White felons are more likely to be shot by police following an arrest for violent felonies. Everything the Black Lives Matter has been pushing out is wrong!" The Factor concluded, "Americans are not believing this Black Lives Matter propaganda."
Examining Voter Fraud Over the Years
With accusations of voter fraud in the air, The Factor asked legal aces Kimberly Guilfoyle and Lis Wiehl to separate fact from fiction. "A Pew study is very disturbing," Wiehl lamented, "and it points out tremendous inaccuracies and inefficiencies in voter registration. It's a very arcane system that goes back to the 19th century." Guilfoyle complained that people can move between states and be registered in both. "2.75-million Americans are registered to vote in two states or three states or even more." The Factor added, "This Pew study is not alleging that there is massive fraud, but it's a chaotic situation and the potential of fraud is there."
Celebs for Hillary
Pop stars Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus are visiting some colleges, urging students to vote for Hillary Clinton. Greg Gutfeld and Bernard McGuirk opined. "Talk about voter intimidation," Gutfeld joked. "You have these two pop stars showing up with a camera asking people who they're going to vote for. They think they're edgy, they have tattoos, but they take no risks. They follow the line as an obedient liberal." McGuirk took particular aim at the young woman who became famous playing Hannah Montana. "Nobody takes Miley Cyrus seriously, even people of her own age think she's a drug-addled and classless lunatic. And if Bernie Sanders is not on the ballot these kids are not showing up, it's a waste of time."

Factor Words of the Day
Jean Reynolds, Nevada City, CA: "Bill, my husband and I sat slack-jawed watching the interview with Jennifer Rubin from The Washington Post. We actually replayed it three times to verify what we saw. You're right, her columns are frauds."

Wayne Switzer, Chesapeake, VA: "Bill, congratulations on the masterful way you handled Ms. Rubin. Talk about someone being completely stifled. Her father must own the newspaper."

Jon Kelly, Laurel Springs, NJ: "While Ms. Rubin did seem flustered, she is accurate. You give Trump talking points all the time, Bill."

Charlie Glassman, Ridgefield, CT: "Bill, you may fool some pinheads, but I know you are heavily invested in getting Trump elected."
Beating Tweeting
Tweeting your anger in 140 characters may offer some momentarily pleasure, but 'tis a far, far better thing to express your feelings the old school way, face-to-face.
