Discussions are Underway to Bring Putin to Washington This Fall

President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin could next meet in Washington as early as this fall, after White House press secretary Sarah Sanders confirmed on Thursday that plans are already in motion to extend an invitation. "In Helsinki, @POTUS agreed to ongoing working-level dialogue between the two security council staffs," Sanders wrote on Twitter. "President Trump asked @Ambjohnbolton to invite President Putin to Washington in the fall and those discussions are already underway," she continued, referring to national security adviser John Bolton. Sanders' confirmation follows a tweet from Trump on Thursday morning. saying he was looking forward to the leaders' next series of discussions after their controversial meetings in Helsinki.

Oregon Voters to Decide ‘Sanctuary State’ Status in November

Voters in Oregon will have the opportunity this November to decide the future of a decades-old sanctuary state law. The Oregon secretary of state's office on Tuesday qualified for an initiative for the 2018 election ballot that would repeal a 1987 law that limits the "use of state [and] local law enforcement resources to enforce federal immigration laws," according to The Oregonian. The initiative which qualified to appear on the November ballot with 97,762 signatures, well above the 88,184-signature threshold required was the culmination of a year-long signature-gathering petition by Oregonians for Immigration Reform (OFIR), an advocacy group seeking to curb immigration to levels that are "environmentally sustainable."

Thirteen Dead, Five Missing, as Missouri Storm Sinks 'Duck Boat'

At least 13 people including children drowned after a tourist “duck boat” sank in a storm on a lake in Missouri and authorities were set to resume a search on Friday for five missing. Divers will resume searching Table Rock Lake outside the town of Branson after the “Ride the Ducks” amphibious vehicle sank, Stone County Sheriff Doug Rader told reporters at a news conference late on Thursday. Video footage shot by a witness on shore showed strong waves tossing two duck boats side to side.

MSNBC and CNN Employees Dominate White House Press Briefings

The daily White House press briefing is meant to give a chance for reporters, from a variety of publications with their own perspectives and agendas, to ask the Trump administration various questions in the hopes of soliciting information for their respective outlets. In reality, a disturbing amount of these White House correspondents are also employees of just two networks: CNN and MSNBC. Research by The Daily Caller News Foundation found a total of at least nine members of the WH press corps who currently receive compensation for their commentary on CNN and MSNBC. Additionally, both MSNBC (as well as its parent network NBC) and CNN employ their own White House correspondents, meaning that these networks could have anywhere from eight to potentially a dozen employees at each daily briefing well over 10 percent of the total attendees.

U.S. Weekly Jobless Claims Drop to More Than 48-and-a-Half-Year Low

The number of Americans filing for unemployment benefits unexpectedly fell last week, hitting its lowest level in more than 48-1/2 years, as the labor market continues to strengthen. Initial claims for state unemployment benefits dropped 8,000 to a seasonally adjusted 207,000 for the week ended July 14, the lowest reading since early December 1969, the Labor Department said on Thursday.

Whoopi Goldberg and Jeanine Pirro Have ‘Explosive Argument’ Following On-Air Feud

Whoopi Goldberg and Judge Jeanine Pirro got into a heated debate on ABC’s “The View” that became an “explosive argument” backstage, several reports say. The exchange began when guest co-host Ana Navarro asked Pirro, a Fox News Channel host, if she believed Trump embodied conservative ideals. “I’m not here to talk about what Donald Trump is or isn’t,” Pirro replied. She was scheduled to talk about her new book Liars, Leakers and Liberals: The Case Against the Anti-Trump Conspiracy. “You gotta answer the question,” Goldberg insisted. “You want to talk about Donald Trump, you tell me what metric in this country is worse off? Unemployment is lower than it’s been in 50 years. Minorities, Hispanics, African-Americans have jobs when they haven’t…, ” Pirro said. Goldberg put her hands on her head during Pirro’s defense of President Trump. Sources said Goldberg and Pirro encountered each other backstage after the show and got into an “explosive argument” and Goldberg reportedly told Pirro to “Get the f–k out of this building.”

Miami Dolphins Anthem Punishment Includes Suspensions

Miami Dolphins players who protest on the field during the national anthem could be suspended for up to four games under a team policy issued this week. The "Proper Anthem Conduct" section is just one sentence in a nine-page discipline document, which has not been made public. It classifies anthem protests under a large list of "conduct detrimental to the club," all of which could lead to a paid or unpaid suspension, a fine or both. Miami's anthem policy comes after the NFL decided in May that teams would be fined if players didn't stand during "The Star-Spangled Banner" while on the field. The league left it up to teams on how to punish players. None of the team policies have been made public. The NFL rule forbids players from sitting or taking a knee if they are on the field or sidelines during the national anthem but allows them to stay in the locker room if they wish.

Roseanne Continues to Talk About Valerie Jarrett Tweet

Roseanne Barr spoke out relatively unapologetically about the vile Valerie Jarrett tweet that got her “Roseanne” reboot canceled: “I thought the b—h was white!” After a loud groan, an agitated Barr lashes out at her interviewer when asked about her now-notorious tweet in which she claimed the former Barack Obama adviser was a creation of the Muslim Brotherhood and “Planet of the Apes.” Barr says in the clip, “I’m trying to talk about Iran! I’m trying to talk about Valerie Jarrett about the Iran deal. That’s what my tweet was about. I thought the b—h was white, goddammit. I thought the b—h was white. F–k!” The tweet got the “Roseanne” reboot canceled on May 29, after which Barr was initially extremely contrite and blamed Ambien for her scathing commentary.
