It is curious to say the least that the new Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other socialistic democrats are getting so much positive press. With the strong economy and record low unemployment numbers, you would think the prevailing wisdom would be hailing capitalism. But no, that’s not what’s happening in the American media.

Far-left politicians like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren are not often challenged by the press over their incomprehensible economic theories. Last night on 60 Minutes, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez received a hall pass from Anderson Cooper who seemed dazed in the interview.

That’s because of Trump loathing. The President is the ultimate capitalist and his business friendly policies have stimulated the economy leading to a much better situation for American workers. But to applaud that and scrutinize those who would tear down the improvements would be to help Mr. Trump so it will not be done.

Socialists claim their goal is to help workers. So why aren’t they happy with the vibrant economy? The answer is power. Socialism says that a central government should call all the economic shots. Ms. Ocasio-Cortez wants to punish affluent Americans with a 70 percent federal income tax rate on top of all the other taxes. If Congress ever passed something like that, the U.S. economy would collapse as many corporations and the wealthy would move abroad.

Socialism is dangerous and so is a corrupt media that has little problem with those pushing it. The Democrats have ceded power to far left elements that now essentially run that party.

If Americans even consider socialistic plans like “Medicare for All” the country is doomed.

That’s how bad the leftist trend is.
