As President Trump wings his way toward Hanoi aboard the most powerful flying machine in the world, Air Force One, it is clear that some Americans are hoping he will fail in his attempt to convince North Korea to give up its nukes.

 

It is also apparent that many Americans would like the upcoming report from Special Counsel Robert Mueller to damage the President.

 

So the question then becomes why are some rooting against their own country? A less threatening North Korea is much better for the world and a triumph of American diplomacy would bring the USA regard and prestige.

 

An exoneration of the President by Mueller would finally put the “Russian Collusion” thing to rest allowing the President to spend more time solving problems.  A plus for America, right?

 

Wrong on both counts in the eyes of the Trump haters.  To them, Trump must be destroyed and if America is harmed in the process, so be it.

 

No longer is it root, root, root for the home team.

 

Now it’s ‘we may have to destroy the village in order to save it.”
