The Irish adventure continues with a nature day. Walking around the primeval forests, which are rare in Eire. Most of the trees were cleared for agriculture and fuel, so that's why you get those great green landscapes. But here in the far north, the woods are extensive.

The weather is like San Diego; very lucky with that. Last week it rained a part of every day.

Food is first rate as Ireland has upped its game there. When I first visited 53 years ago, dismal cuisine ruled. Easy to put on pounds with Irish butter and dairy.

So I'm walking it off.

Tomorrow, the history part of the trip kicks in as we travel to Derry and Belfast. I have some history there, as I wrote about in my first book, the novel "Those Who Trespass."

Will check in from there. Hope you're enjoying the travelogue.
