People Believe What They Want To Believe

At mass yesterday the priest brought up Roe v. Wade which caused some in the congregation to actually listen to the sermon. Usually, the homily stays in the safe confines of long ago scripture.

The theme was that all life is valued equally by God and that includes the unborn so you can't kill them.  Good message, nothing new.

The problem is that "God" means different things to different folks. People believe what they want to believe and what they want to believe usually is convenient. So, if you work in Hollywood for example or are a member of the progressive movement, you are pro-choice. Have to be or you're expelled. That's inconvenient.

America is now a secular country where beliefs conform to the winds of society, not some higher power or greater good.

Therefore, it's much easier for basically good people to do questionable things: like support and promote ending the existence of the unborn.

The less "God" in a society, the fewer the protections for everyone. No question.

Tonight, on the No Spin News, we are bringing back the "Talking Points Memo!"
First one is on voter suppression. Spread the word. See you beginning at six eastern.
