The collapse of common sense in America is epitomized by New York City mayor Bill de Blasio. The unrestrained leftist has now ordered the NYPD to allow people to openly smoke marijuana in public and the consequences be damned.

On any given day, there are about 15 million human beings present in New York City.  The streets are crowded, folks are in close proximity.  So, let’s allow the open consumption of intoxicants, shall we?  Another brilliant move, Mr. Mayor.

Already, drug-involved people are not only inhaling pot, but also openly smoking crack and injecting opioids.  Thousands of used needles pollute public parks.  New York City is quickly becoming San Francisco, a city under assault by gross public behavior.

Although de Blasio could not care less, it is poor children who will suffer most from his insane permissiveness.  Many city housing projects are awash in narcotics and now they can be used openly with no interference from the housing police. Lobbies and playground areas where kids gather will feature pot smokers and a variety of other intoxicated people.  Nice environment for children to be a part of, right?
