The Impeachment Hearings are a Partisan Exercise

Just to be clear, the impeachment hearings today are a partisan exercise designed to weaken the republicans and President Trump.  There is no other reason for the House to be doing this.  It is not a positive for America and, in the legal system we have, a case like this would never get to trial.
 
That’s because the evidence is weak, there is a valid defense, and no demonstrable crime has been defined. From now on, all future presidents might be impeached based on flimsy charges if the opposing party controls the House of Representatives.
