Is President Obama Destroying His Own Legacy?
"It is inexplicable that Barack Obama would compare historical injustices by Christians a thousand years ago to atrocities being committed by Muslim jihadists today. But that's what the president did yesterday at a prayer breakfast. The president is getting hammered nearly everywhere except on the network news programs, which chose not to cover the story. And today National Security Advisor Susan Rice gave a speech about the strategy to protect America and the world. According to her, the president believes most threats can be defused by enlisting partners around the world to join together against the evildoers. Ms. Rice completely avoided any definition of how to stop ISIS from committing daily atrocities. Instead, she said the dangers we face 'are not of the existential nature that we confronted during World War II or the Cold War.' Certainly ISIS was an existential threat to the Jordanian set on fire and the Americans beheaded. Hitler was not an existential threat until 1938. To flail around while killer groups gain power is unwise to say the least. But the Obama administration believes the bombing campaign and other secondary measures will eventually downgrade the savages. Meantime, thousands are dying and thousands are plotting to come here to kill Americans. The rest of the speech was your standard issue 'we are doing great in Washington so what's the problem?' It was bizarre to hear Ms. Rice refer to climate change as a strategic talking point, but that's standard for the left. Summing up, the president believes ISIS can be degraded without ground confrontation, that his policies in Iraq and Afghanistan have made the USA stronger, and that Iran will give up nukes in the face of world pressure. That is what Barack Obama believes."

The Factor invited strategic analysts Lt. Col. Ralph Peters and Col. David Hunt to react to Susan Rice's speech. "It was mush," Peters declared, "the yogurt I had for breakfast had more intellectual structure. The message was that we're doing well and we're going to give you more of the same. My 'barf factor' soared when she spoke of the administration's 'unparalleled leadership.'" Hunt also accused the administration of harboring delusions. "When you give a speech that spends as much time on transgender issues as terrorism, you've got a real problem. And that's what we had. What's happening now is that we are stopping ISIS to a point, but not destroying it. If you want to destroy ISIS, you have to do it with U.S. soldiers on the ground." The Factor concluded with a blistering indictment: "On the president's watch ISIS has gained thousands of square miles of territory, and every day little girls are getting raped."
Offending Christians
As mentioned in the Talking Points, this week President Obama reminded everyone that Christians once committed ISIS-like atrocities. Pastor Robert Jeffress analyzed that comparison. "Jesus would be outraged that the president would willfully mischaracterize a movement like Christianity," he said. "Jesus, who said it would be better to be cast into the sea than to harm a child, would be incensed that Obama would link Christianity to ISIS, an organization that tortures children and buries them alive. The president mentioned the Inquisition, which lasted about 450 years. 2,200 people died - more people died at the hands of Muslim terrorists on 9/11 than in the Inquisition. There is no moral equivalency here!"
Trouble For Eva Longoria?
Actress Eva Longoria has been linked to a charity that is accused of fraud and deception. FNC's Geraldo Rivera entered the No Spin Zone with his analysis. "Eva Longoria is revered in the Latino community," he said, "and she's been a very charitable person. But she has two friends who do a charity in which they beg for things like a ride on a yacht, they auction it off, and the proceeds go to charity. The problem, according to The Hollywood Reporter, is that not enough of the money goes to the causes and there is very shady bookkeeping. But there is no allegation or even any suspicion that Eva Longoria took any of the money, she didn't profit at all."
What Makes YOU Mad?
FNC anchor Harris Faulkner joined The Factor to respond to angry viewers. One of them, Californian James Usselman, is ticked off at the high cost of college and the often-dismal education delivered in exchange. "He might have a reason to be angry," Faulkner said. "College students were asked in a poll to identify the capital of France. In 1980 it was the 6th-most correctly answered question, in 2012 it was the 23rd-most accurately answered question. So we're going in the wrong direction." Another viewer, Bruce Slemmer of Florida, is peeved because Michelle Obama did not wear a head scarf in Saudi Arabia. "The protocol says you have an option to cover your head," Faulkner reported, "and Senator Ted Cruz sent out kudos to the first lady for standing up for women who refuse to wear a Sharia-mandated head scarf."
Confronting ISIS
Guys Friday Greg Gutfeld and Bernard McGuirk both bowed down, figuratively speaking, to King Abdullah of Jordan, who quoted Clint Eastwood while threatening ISIS. "He is more like the 'King of Awesome,'' Gutfeld gushed. "This guy says 'kill 'em all,' while our president says 'degrade and destroy,' which is what I say about my liver. So King Abdullah is Dirty Harry and we're dealing with Barney Fife." McGuirk was equally effusive about the macho Jordanian. "I like the cut of this guy's jib. If one of his guys gets savagely murdered, he puts on a flight suit, quotes Clint Eastwood, and goes out and takes action. When one of our guys gets beheaded, Obama has a press conference, puts on golf shoes, and quotes Caddyshack. This guy would admire Chris Kyle while Obama would admire Bowe Bergdahl."
Clash of Civilizations
Public opinion polls in Islamic nations indicate that a significant minority of Muslims support suicide bombing under certain circumstances. With that in mind, The Factor asked conservative Andrea Tantaros and liberal Nomiki Konst to evaluate President Obama's recent claim that 99.9% of Muslims reject the jihad. "That is simply not true," Tantaros said, "and it's telling me that he is not just saying jihad isn't a problem, he's saying it doesn't even exist. He has also said ISIS is not an Islamic organization and the Taliban not a terrorist organization." But Konst defended the president and his policies. "President Obama has a realistic view, he's releasing bombs on ISIS every day. Linking an entire religion to a political movement that is using religion as an excuse for terrorism is unfair."
Viewers Sound Off
Factor Words of the Day
Mike Yerian, Athens, OH: "I heard Laura Ingraham say that if Ronald Reagan was president, he would confront ISIS. Which Reagan is she remembering? When 241 Marines were killed by terrorists in Lebanon, Reagan did nothing."

Lynn Willenbrock, West Chester, PA: "Mr. O'Reilly, thanks for spotlighting the human rights atrocities occurring around the world. A German pastor once said of the Nazis: Silence in the face of evil - is itself evil."

Mary Hearn, Albuquerque, NM: "O'Reilly, your attempts to shame the president into taking direct action against ISIS will not work. His ambivalence is his strongest character trait."

Terry Keene, Birmingham, England: "Will someone please tell President Obama that the only thing worse than being the world's policeman is America not being the world's policeman."
