Uber-Left Professors
"As we have been reporting, many colleges across the country are dominated by far-left teachers who are now hysterical about the election of Donald Trump. One of them, Olga Perez Stable Cox, who teaches at Orange Coast College in California, told her students this: 'We have been assaulted, it's an act of terrorism. One of the most frightening things for me, and most people in my life, is that the people who are leading the assault are among us. It is not some stranger from other country attacking our sense of what it means to be an American.' Of course that is simply gibberish and slander, intellectually absurd. Yet the college pays that instructor to "assault," using her word, her students. Who wants to hear that kind of diatribe in a psychology class? So the question then becomes what should be done to stop the madness? It's a tough one because many college professors have tenure, which means they can't be fired no matter what they do. And there is the freedom of speech issue. But there comes a point when the nation has to know exactly what is happening in its institutions of higher learning. If you know your history, every totalitarian regime controlled the schools. In 1930s Germany, in the Soviet Union, in China after Mao took over, it was propaganda across the board in the classroom. And if the teachers didn't toe the line, they were fired or worse. Now we have the totalitarian left in America and if you don't see it their way, you are attacked and demonized. And if you're a student, you can be punished through the grading system. This cannot continue. It is up to each individual state to monitor what happens in their public colleges and high schools. Even in private school, if the institution gets taxpayer money, the state has a right to know what is going on. It is time for governors to hold college administrators responsible for crazy stuff going on in the classrooms. Academic freedom is one thing. Harming students with insane ideology is something else."

The Factor invited reaction from Eric Bolling and Geraldo Rivera. "That teacher in California should be fired," Bolling said, "or at least she should be removed from the classroom. I understand the penal code, but there must be a way to remove someone for cause." Rivera lamented that extreme liberalism is simply a fact of life on college campuses. "Complaining about liberal teachers and liberal media is like complaining about the weather, that's just the way it is. That teacher is free to say anything she wants, but if she grades her students based on their ideology, that is actionable. Even tenure would not protect her from that."
Media in a Trump Tizzy
The far-left media's bitterness and vitriol after Donald Trump's election is only growing. The Factor analyzed the situation with Eboni Williams and Trish Regan. "A lot of people in this country," Williams observed, "not only didn't vote for Trump, but feel that accepting the result of a Trump presidency is 'legitimizing' it. They feel that if the media accepts and moves forward, they are complicit in the rhetoric of the campaign." Regan implied that she is often embarrassed by some in her own profession. "There used to be a school of thought in the media that you should at least pretend that you are unbiased, but now there is a school of thought that the media should be completely biased. If you say anything in defense of Donald Trump, people will pile on in an extreme way." The Factor pointed out, "The ratings for CNN and MSNBC have plummeted after the election, which says to me that people have had it with this."
Surprising New Fox News Poll
According to a new Fox News poll, Donald Trump is viewed unfavorably by a slender majority of Americans, but his numbers have improved. FNC analyst Karl Rove analyzed the poll and its findings. "The headline is that things are getting better for Donald Trump," Rove said, "but he still has a long way to go. He is up by nine points on the 'favorable' side and that was going up even before the Carrier jobs situation. The sub-heading of this poll is that Trump voters believed in him, but they didn't necessarily take him literally. They believe he will be serious in building a wall and will do better than President Obama in fighting ISIS. Also, two-thirds of people say his use of Twitter is inappropriate." The Factor reminded Rove, "Donald Trump sees Twitter as a way to get around the media that hates him."
Huckabee's Thoughts on Trump's "Thank You" Tour
The Factor welcomed former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, who praised Donald Trump's ongoing 'thank you' tour. "These rallies are great," he declared, "and a perfect way for Donald Trump to bypass the media. It allows him to get out of the bubble and it enables him to get out and rub shoulders with the people who supported him. He needs to see and feel that connection, and it's powerful for him to get out of Trump Tower and see who was for him. I hope he continues to do it after he is sworn in."
Miller on Trump Tower Intrigue
Dennis Miller scoped out the unusual parade of celebrities heading to Trump Tower in recent days, a list that has included Microsoft founder Bill Gates, rapper Kanye West, former football great Jim Brown, and a plethora of Silicon Valley tech gurus. "If Trump can turn black America around through Kanye West and Jim Brown," Miller began, "it is a nuclear winter for the Democratic Party. And it should be when you look at Chicago and Baltimore and Detroit and Chicago, the way the 'Great Society' has run up the single parent rate. Democrats should be ashamed! He also talked with Bill Gates, who referred to Trump as 'Kennedy-esque.' I'm waiting for the media to call Gates stupid. Al Gore also came over, but that was just as a sleep aid, and Leo DiCaprio visited, but that was just so he could hit on Melania."
Helping the Vets
President-elect Donald Trump has personally signed ten 'Make America Great Again' hats, which will be auctioned off here on BillOReilly.com over the next few days. All proceeds will go to Fisher House, which helps the families of wounded vets. So make a bid, help a tremendous cause, and get an historic hat for your mantle. The auction will end Sunday at midnight and the winners will be announced on Monday's Factor.

Factor Words of the Day
Aaron Hisel, Battle Creek, MI: "Bill, I am a nurse practitioner in an emergency room and see first hand the damage of the opioid/heroin epidemic. Your assessment is right on."

Ian Baker, Edmonton, Canada: "O'Reilly, in the drug segment with Krauthammer, you interrupted him time and time again. He is smarter than you, so stop."

David Nowlin, Sasakwa, OK: "Charles was spot on. President Obama is somewhat right about the incarceration of users, but I do believe the punishment for sellers should be severe."

Helen Taylor, Northville, MI: "My daughter died from heroin use. I agree with you that Obama's lack of outrage over sellers is wrong. I suffer every day."
