It's hard to remember a time when people could look past opinions and differences to continue friendships.
Don't get me wrong, if someone says a race is inferior or a something just awful, relationships should be reconsidered if not terminated.
But in regards to politics and religion, a Democrat and Republican should be able to stay friends. Or a religious person and an atheist should be able to respectfully disagree.
So it's nice to see that NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes didn't just cast aside or outright denounce his kicker Harrison Butker.
Mahomes let people know he didn't agree with some of Butker's takes but called his fellow Kansas City Chief a "good person."
There were a few things wrong with Butker's speech and his viewpoints. That's my opinion. There were a few valid points made. My opinion, also.
But those calling for his removal from the team or the NFL over his religious viewpoints, they go way too far.
