Not Feeling Good About My Country

I am not feeling good about my country. I thought impeachment was an act of vengeance. I lament that so many Americans hate each other because of politics. I am very disappointed that President Trump and his acolytes continue to put forth that the election was rigged without compelling evidence.

Now, to be clear, I do believe there was fraud in the presidential election, but I cannot prove it. All I want is a federal investigation, a special counsel, to look into the election to see if mail-in votes were corrupted and if the voting machines actually worked.

I think that is a reasonable request.

I am also sad that President-elect Joe Biden has not seemed to embrace that request—shouldn’t Mr. Biden want to know if the most important election in this country is a subject of corruption?

I would think any President would want to know that.

But none of that is going to happen. President Trump will leave office, he’s not going to be convicted by the Senate and Americans will go on and continue hating each other.

And this makes me very unhappy—I am praying it turns around.
