Thursday: Breakthrough for Kate's Law
Finally Some Good News for Kate's Law
"The nation was shocked when 32-year-old Kate Steinle was murdered in San Francisco just about one year ago. 45-year-old Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez, an illegal alien from Mexico with seven felony convictions in the USA, is charged with the murder. Not only was Sanchez allowed to roam the streets by San Francisco authorities, but he had been deported five times and returned illegally six times. So I proposed Kate's Law, which would incarcerate illegal aliens convicted of aggravated felonies for at least five years if they were caught defying deportation. Who could oppose that law? Apparently Senator Harry Reid could and we'll see about the other senators next week, when Kate's Law will finally be offered for a standalone vote in the Senate. 60 votes are needed out of 100 to get the law in place for a full vote. Again, I simply cannot believe any sitting senator would not support Kate's Law and we will tell you exactly who steps up and who doesn't. Also standing alone next week in the Senate is a new law that would withhold some federal funds from sanctuary cities, places that will not cooperate on federal immigration law. The upcoming election in November will mean that any Democrat voting against protecting Americans from violent aliens and cities that harbor them will have to defend that vote when they run against Republican opposition. It is assumed that all Republican senators will support Kate's Law and the punishment of sanctuary cities. And if a senator does vote against Kate's Law, we will deal with that person. On the sanctuary front, in order to protect Americans from harm, immigration law must be obeyed. The issue is not as stark as Kate's Law but it is a litmus test of settled law versus anarchy. Is it not?"

The Factor spoke about Kate's Law and its prospects in the Senate with 'The Five' co-host Dana Perino, who ran the communications shop in the George W. Bush administration. "I regretfully think this will not pass," she lamented. "I think the Democrats will be partisan enough to allow the law to be debated on the floor for several days, where they will be able to get a lot of campaign footage because they will be against Kate's Law. They think it's a plus for them because they represent large metropolitan areas that are largely Democratic and they want to keep their immigrant population happy." The Factor was staggered, exclaiming, "You think the folks in these large Democratic areas don't want to punish illegal violent aliens who defy deportation!"
Lynch's Meeting With Bill Clinton
Attorney General Loretta Lynch, who will ultimately decide whether Hillary Clinton is indicted, met with Bill Clinton this week at the Phoenix airport. Local TV anchor Christopher Sign, who broke the story, joined The Factor with details. "They were on the tarmac," he reported, "in a private section. The former president waited for her and when she arrived he got on her plane, where they spoke privately for 30 minutes. The FBI instructed everyone that there would be no photos and no cell phones." Democratic strategist Mark Hannah downplayed the significance of the meeting. "A lot of people are upset with the optics, but this is a courtesy that Bill Clinton extends to members of Congress and foreign dignitaries. The American people care about the economy." The Factor countered with a suggestion, saying, "She should have talked with him for two or three minutes in full view of everyone."
ISIS Changing The Way It Operates?
Why hasn't ISIS taken credit for recent terror attacks in Orlando and Turkey? The Factor posed that question to former Army Green Beret Lt. Col. Scott Mann. "This is guerilla warfare," Mann explained, "and when there is an attack they can send their message without overtly claiming it. ISIS, more than any other violent extremist group, has bought into an 'end of days' scenario. This is the first of many strikes we are going to see this summer because they are ideologically committed to a level of violence that our leaders and the American people don't fully understand." The Factor concluded with a call for greater force: "If they want an 'end-of-days,' let's give them the end of their days. The message has to be sent by the West that enough is enough!"
America's Drug Problem
The Factor welcomed Republican Newt Gingrich and former Democratic Congressman Patrick Kennedy, who have teamed up to fight the growing problem of opioid addiction. "I got involved in this," Gingrich said, "because there is an entirely new approach that uses a medication response. A large part of this is a biological problem, it's a disease, and this new approach gets better results and saves lives." Kennedy, a recovering addict, agreed that addiction is a disease, not a lifestyle choice. "People don't get up every day and figure out how they're going to lose their job, lose their family, and alienate themselves from all their friends. I don't know anyone who would choose to be an addict, its not a normal state of being."
Smearing Politicians in the Media
CBS News contributor Nancy Giles, who regularly provides commentary for that network, actually described Donald Trump as "clinically insane." Bernie Goldberg was very obviously not amused. "Even opinion journalism has to be fair," he declared. "Commentators and hosts of opinion shows should have a lot of leeway, but I can't come on your program and say so-and-so reminds me of a child molester. The woman who claimed Donald Trump is 'clinically insane' is not a psychiatrist and in my opinion she crossed the line. On the other side, management should also step in if journalists are too soft on people running for president."
New York City Falling Apart
Many New Yorkers complain that their streets are in a state of perpetual chaos under ultra-leftist Mayor Bill de Blasio. Jesse Watters, doing his best to avoid potholes and crumbling sidewalks, spoke about the mess with some hard hat construction workers. A few of their comments: "We'll be all done by Christmas" ... "I'd say give us two more years" ... "You can't whistle at women anymore" ... "DeBlasio is the worst" ... "We need a new mayor."

Factor Words of the Day
Kim Planert, Oxford, OH: "Bill, you told Trump you don't give political advice because you are not a politician. Really? You have given him political advice many times."

Scott Moore, Austin, TX: "Bill, you told Trump you are not convinced that ISIS will infiltrate the U.S. through the refugee program. I'm flabbergasted."

Scott Downey, Harker Heights, TX: "Bill, no uniformed officer would ever countermand an order from the Secretary of Defense. The Benghazi report sounds fishy to me."
